Last night our friends from across the Museums sector, designers, architects, MANE alumni and students joined us at Central Saint Martins to celebrate the publication of The Future of Museum and Gallery Design, co-edited by MA NE course leader Patricia Austin, Susan McLeod, Jonathan Hale and Oscar Ho Hing-Kay.
Guests enjoyed an upbeat evening of drinks and industry networking followed by a presentation and panel discussion of the book by its co-authors Jonathan Hale and Patricia Austin with special features from architect Sarah Featherstone and Tom Duncan, who flew in from Berlin.
The Future of Museum and Gallery Design brings together multiple voices from all over the world to present a vision of museums as catalysts for critical debate, cultural exchange and community building. It makes a case for more open and experimental approaches to making museums and highlights the many ways socially-engaged design can help to transform museums into agents of change.
